....Once upon a time...... quite by chance, there existed a place of serinity and tranquillity called Arcadia. This place was inhabitted by gods, mythical creatures, ancient races, musicians, and anything else your imagination so chooses. Arcadia was a place sacred to all... even to those who had never seen its glory. This is because Arcadia is the place you wish you could be at all times, a perfect place, so to speak................

One day a young couple frolicking in the woods, exploring places they hadn't been before, came upon a grove of trees. This grove seemed to fill them with that sense of contentness with the world that you haven't had sense you were a small child, and yet it always lives inside you. In the center of this grove was a pond. In the center of the pond was a small island on which a circle of smooth bland looking rocks encompassed the whole island. The couple thought nothing of this and relished in the feeling which had so suddenly caught their attention. The scent of the forest was quite pure. The water of the pond was totally transparent. The only way you could tell there was water in the pond was the tiny beams of sunlight, that somehow made it through the thick canopy overhead, reflecting on the water. The trees had very thick trunks which were amazingly straight. The canopy started about 50 feet up, and the leaf cover made by these trees was very thick. Very little light was ever able to make it through the covering, but it was suprisingly well lit. The evening hours were approaching and the food, which had clung to their ribs so well, was quickly dicipating in their stomach. And yet amazed by their findings and still in awe of the feeling that had consumed them, the couple vowed to return as soon as possible.
Two days later, fulfilling their vow, the couple returned to the spot. They arrived in the late morning and brought food and love along with them. The couple continued to revisit the grove, which was their personal paradise, on a regular and frequent basis, they, being the only individuals to know of its existance. Many nights were spent on the soft ground of the grove, and many afternoons spent swimming in the relativly shallow water of the pond. The area around had been well scouted out by the couple and they knew the place well. One day the couple noticed something strange, they came to the relization that they had never set foot upon the island in the middle of the pond. They decided they would do it together as they always do and not to long afterwards, acted on their descision. As they grew closer to entering the circle, one of the couple expressed their doubt on weither or not this is was a good idea. They decided together it was ok to do it and so they stepped in. They felt a strange sense of power come over them. For a moment it seemed as if they were invincible, as if they had just joined the ranks of the omnipotent entities which watched over the whole universe. The feeling quickly dicipated and they were once again filled with the childlike contentness, which now had become a part of their daily lives. They looked at each other as if communicating in some other form and quickly shifted their position off of the island.
The couple took a short break from their frequent visits to their spot, but soon enough again they came. As the years passed by, the grove began to die off. There was no new growth and all the growth that had been there began to die. So the couple discontinued their visits to the grove. Still yet, even without their beautiful grove, the content feeling lived on. They never forgot what it was like to be an entity, or the smell of the grove, or the feel of the water. But, most of all they allowed the grove to live on inside them, not just in their memory but in their hearts and lives...........
